I am America (and so can you)
Has anyone else read this masterpiece? It's by Stephen Colbert and I love it. I read every night and rarely find myself laughing out loud. This book has me laughing at least once or twice per night. If you enjoy Colbert at all, the book is hilarious. I got the book from the library (on a side note, the Fairfax county library system is amazing) and will be ordering this book for my collection.

I read it, it started out good then it went all down hill. The book/jokes never evolved...it was a very painful experience.

Re: I am America (and so can you)
I thought his column in the NY Times was both shorter and funnier than the book.

Re: I am America (and so can you)
the other week when I had my Lasik surgery I bought this as an audiobook off of iTunes. I have to agree with others who've said it started off great but kind of tailed off at the end.

Re: I am America (and so can you)
Far from it. I don't think it's much hyperbole to say that Colbert is a "comedic genius." Both he and Stewart do a great job summarizing and satirizing daily events. Personally, I think Colbert has exceeded Stewart. You don't have to agree with them to recognize their talents. What's especially refreshing and revealing is to hear actual interviews with him. He had a great one explaining the difference between him and Stewart. I'll look for it later.
All that said, I've always felt I'd be very disappointed by their books so I've never read them Has anyone ever seen Colbert's roast of Chevy Chase? Brilliant
