BTW, we are talking about the same VY that plays for the titans and they did happen to beat the jags today 17-10, right.....thats all that matters in this business is W's and L's!

Although I didn't catch the game the bottom line is they got a WIN! He had a bad game and the defense stepped up and compensated for his mistakes or mistakes on the offensive side of the football.

And thats all that matters at the end of the day. I wish we where sitting at 1-0 instead of visa versa.
You see, in this case, that not catching the game part is critical, because had you done so, you would have known that the game clinching TD came on a Kerry Collins drive -- after Young injury.

So if W and L are all that matters, count Vince Young in as a real winner -- but also a horrible quarterback.

The sad part is that they still managed to win the game and beat up on a good Jags team.

I know!!! Imagine what a real qb could have done vs the Jags on sunday???? Makes me wonder if Collins could be their starter for the rest of the season, especially considering that VY was so upset about the fans booing him.

I take back what I originally said about the Redskins not needing Brett Favre.

I forgot to mention that on the Redskins postgame show, John Riggins said that when you talk to Cold Brennan he sounds like a confident NFL quarterback, but when you talk to Jason Campbell he sounds like a rookie with not much confidence. I paraphrased a lot, but that's the essence of what Riggins observed, not that it means much, but it's an opinion that's out there, and a lot of other people have said the same thing.

This is what happens when Colt Brennan plays against first-team DBs. I know it is still practice, but still:

"Springs wore a wrapping around his calf during Monday’s practice. He looked in good form, at one point picking off a Colt Brennan pass."

News & Notes: Springs Returns to Practice

My final thought until next week: Can we just give the kid a chance?

I'll give him a chance every week this year, hell even next year if he's not very good this season. But even some of the best West Coast QB's ever (McNabb, Steve Young, Hasselbeck...) took at least 2 or 3 seasons to excel in the WCO. He needs to speed up his learning curve, because I don't think anyone anywhere, including the skins FO, is saying "man, imagine how great Jason will be in 2011 when he's really mastered the system?"

Most definitely. He's not going to have 2-3 seasons to master this offense if he doesn't show solid progress along the way.

Thats for sure, he will be lucky 'IF he doesn't take the next step this year, to have this year to prove he's capable of being our future QB. I think JC HAS to take big steps in the first half (8 games) of this season or who knows what his future might or might not hold in DC.

Mastering the offense....? He will simply need to find a way to get some wins under his belt. New system or not, we are coming off a playoff season. Without JC at the helm.

Re: JC is not what I thought.

Now I am convinced that this thread was way too knee jerk in the first place. Oh well. Please prove me wrong JC!

Cool Re: JC is not what I thought.

here's an idea, trade jason cambell now to a team who just lost a qb. and in return, we get a good.. corner/ saftey.
