"If you don't think drugs have done some good things, then go home, take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your CD's and burn 'em. You know why? 'Cause the musicians that enhanced your lives throughout the years....Real F@#$in' high on drugs."

I wouldn't be too rough. There were Redskins that couldn't even read. Every team has dark moments in their closet. That's just how it is. The Cowboys have certainly had their fair share. But I bet people around here would be crying and whining if there were something showing this same type of material about the Redskins. All in all I find the concept pretty interesting. I always wonder what happens behind closed doors with NFL teams.

Slitting someone's throat and whipping out and wacking your wang in a locker room aren't in the same ballpark as illiteracy, but I get your point.

You got nothing on the Redskins. We're boring. Our last great National Enquirer moment came courtesy of Joe Theismann ditching his family to get hot with Cathy Lee.

I don't think it's that simple Daseal. The culture that Gibbs instilled - in the 80's and to perhaps a larger extent in his second term - was one of responsibility and character. To be sure, people slipped, but there was a conscientious effort from the top down to build a team of solid citizens. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have only ever cared about winning, character be damned. From there drug-addled teams in the 70's, to the aformentioned Johnson era teams, to today where that criminal madman Pacman runs around their stadium.

Me? I'd rather win a superbowl with crooks than suck with choir boys, but I certainly respect what Gibbs did. I definitely think there's a world of difference between the culture of the Skins and the culture down in Dallas.

Let's see...........................

Tony Peters------------Drugs

Dexter Manley----------Drugs

Barry Wilburn-----------Drugs, Armed Robbery

Michael Westbrook------Assault and Battery (should've been locked up for impersonating a WR.)

George Rogers----------Drugs

Timmy Smith------------Drugs

Yeah, I see the big difference between the Skins and Cowboys culture.

Too bad more NFL teams couldn't have Gibbs guys like this.

Barry Wilburn's armed robbery charge (which was dropped) came long after his time with the Redskins

Michael Westbrook wasn't a Gibbs guy

Rogers' issues were before he was a Redskin (admittedly that's not much better than the Cowboys going after Tank or Pac Man)

But really, it seems like you're defending the Cowboys' history in the 90s. Any issues any other teams have should not and does not lessen the off-field transgressions of the Cowboys.

No I'm not defending them at all, I'm just proving that pretty much every team has their problem spots.

Great post. If you let some people tell it, their favorite teams are "squeaky clean". Check the stats and see who has had some brushes with the law within the last 10 or so years.

(funny how this stat never makes it on teams boards.)

I know no Cowboys have had any brushes, so let's see what the other statistics show. I'm afraid some people might not like what they will find. But, I'm pretty sure no other team has had arrest since this time............

(sarcastically LOL!)

Everyone should read this. If you didn't hate the Cowboys or Michael Irvin before, you will after reading that article.

That was a pretty unusual comparison.
