Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

This game should be a great, physical, one. philly fighting to remain out of the cellar, and the skins looking to secure another division win. I think this game has the possibility of being a better fought out one than last weeks.
i dislike philly but over the years have grown a great respect for Mcnabb and Reid. both those guys ooze class and ethics. Always a tough matchup

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

This will be a extremely tough game. Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook always give the Redskins trouble. It looks like the Eagles will be without one of their big weapons, Westbrook, and that may help. The Skins defense have to contain McNabb , pass rush up the middle and keep him in the pocket. When he is able to escape to the outside, he creates big plays. Covering DeSean Jackson is also a priority. Jackson is also dangerous on special teams. The biggest concern is the Redskin offensive line versus Philly's blitz packages. Zorn will need to dial up a good mix of runs and passes with effective hot reads. Jason Campbell will need to continue to be efficient and make quick reads and get rid of the ball quickly. Turnovers will determine the outcome of this game.

Redskins 31 Eagles 24

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

I know everyone here is super excited about how great the Skins are because we beat the cowgirls....other than that we had close wins against the cardinals and the saints who were injured. Perhaps I am a little cautious but...
The Eagles MUST ABSOLUTELY win this game at home...if they don't they are totally screwed. If Westbrook is practicing, he Must play this game in my opinion.
Their defense is a very good and I know they will be scheeming to jump short routes during blitzes to see if they can get a pick.

I am not going to make a prediction, but the pressure is totally on the Eagles and virtually none is on the Skins....however, if the Skins win this game, which is inconstant with this teams mid year performances in the past few years, I will officially jump on the Kool Aid bandwagon....ps...I still voted a 3 in confidence in Zorn so I realize I am a skeptic. Go Skins....steal one from a desperate Philly for us!

Correct, Eagles have to win this division game
AND Mcnabb is healthy and playing better than I have seen him in...maybe ever.
BUT, make no mistake........Skins WILL win!

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

I heard an interview with Zorn this morning talking about his first game in Philly as Seattle's rookie QB. They were standing in a huddle on the sidelines during a timeout and one of the linemen yelled "OUCH!!!!!"

An Eagles fan shot him in the leg with a pellet gun. Zorn said "everyone keep your helmets on!"

He was always a leader.

If we win this game, with back to back road wins at Dallas and Philly, we are looking at a team that could be very special. I love seeing our team make noise in the ultra competitive NFC East.

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

Dear Redskin fans,
I can understand your excitedness over this year's wins especially the one over the cowgirls, but make no mistake..Reid and company will have an answer to JC's no-turnover season. Philly's D ranks first in sacks (17) and third in total ypg (245). There are also 5 fumbles recovered of 7. Im not stating who will win, but that sunday's game marks the beginning of JC turnovers.
Some Note Worthies:
1. Some good match ups to watch are JJ vs. Juqua Parker (DE) and the reverse, Carter vs. Tra Thomas. Who will own who?
2. True, DeSean Jackson IS good for one bone head play sunday. But be honest, hasnt he performed better than most rookie WRs this year, if not most vets?
3. Buckhalter is no Westbrook. I needn't say more.

Hurry up Sunday, we can't wait any longer.

While I agree your D will bring the heat, sack JC, rush some throws, but I dont see how you can make a blanket statement that JC will throw a pick.

That is arrogance, and I really hope we don't turn it over mainly to make people like you suffer for your hubris. Otherwise I agree with everything else.

I believe that Jim Johnson will dial up his full complement of blitz packages, and the outcome will be determined by how well the Skins O-line and Campbell cope with them. If Campbell hits a couple big plays in these situations, I like the Skins chances. If he's hit and lays the ball on the ground, it could be a long day. Regardless, I'm expecting one of the most physical games of the year - NFC East RULES!!!

Dear Philly fan,
I can dignify your jackassery (endorsed by MK72) no longer. This game is being played and the results already known on a higher plain than perhaps you understand. Andy and the boys are mere pawns........Destiny, as the victory, resides with the Skins.
And....don't forget to smell the roses
