Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

OK, they shouldn't be able to run run on us and they won;t get much passing. Their ST's aren't too good, so I can't see them scoring more than 6-10 points.

We should be able to run all over them - I believe Portis single game high is 224 yards and maybe he can beat that. We won't go to town if the run game is working, so maybe c. 2-250 yards. If we can get 4-500 yards offense, we should score 28-35 points at least. 3-4 TD's on the ground, 1-2 TD's in the air and/or a FG or two.

Overall, I go 31-6 Skins.

Lions 12
Redskins 38

I think S. Alexander will have a TD, Portis will get a TD, Moss will have 2 TDs, and D. Thomas gets his first.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

Heres what Peter King of SI thinks:

Washington Redskins (5-2) at Detroit Lions (0-6)
It makes no sense, picking Dan Orlovsky to win an NFL game. But I've had pretty good luck with the upset recently -- Miami over San Diego, St. Louis over Dallas -- and I've got the Washington-taking-Detroit-lightly feel here, along with the Marinelli-making-life-miserable-for-his-losers feel. Detroit will play very hard and get a few bounces, finally.

Prediction: Detroit Lions 20, Washington Redskins 17

WTF is he thinking

He's a notorious Redskins hater. This shit is normal from him when it comes to our burgundy and gold.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

I am a new football fan. I didn't grow up on football, I just in the last week willingly decided I want to be a fan. So I can't claim much experince and expertise. (And speaking of which, hello to everyone and I appreciate any advice on fandom you can dish out. =) )

That said, I've spent the last week learning as much as I can about the team and the game.

It looks to me like this SHOULD go to the skins. No question. One guy said it perfect, our team is better this year, and there's is worse.

The only thing that wories me is how banged up our guys are and how long we have been moving without a bye. That bye is going to feel like an elephant getting off their collective foot.

In any case, this is the first game I'll be watching as a redskins fan so I hope for the best.

Welcome. If you really get into this, expect large mood swings. If you become a fan remember that you can't be a fair weather fan. Lots of Cowgirl fans are like that. You only see their hats and jerseys when the Girls are doing ok. Have fun.

Skins are one of the better franchises in the history of the NFL, been to 5 Superbowls and won three(all under Coach Gibbs). One of the few teams that still has a fight song and a marching band in the NFL.

Glad you picked us bud, stay with the team and dont jump off if we hit some turbulence.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

We've already fallen into our trap game a couple of weeks ago. We come out guns blazing and win big, 34-6.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

Last time I saw the Lions Skins play in Detroit it was in the Silverdome in 2000 and Neon Deion let Johnny Morton blow him away, plus Brad Johnson threw a dumbass late INT to seal the Skins fate. I think the Skins will win something like 35-10, but I am worried it might end up being like the Rams game. We might play outright flat and the Lions are desperate. They might not have Kitna/Williams, but they still have Calvin Johnson and our secondary is beat to hell. Orlovsky isn't the most accurate passer, but he does have a good arm. As of today there is still 6,000 tickets left so the game probably will be blacked out here in Detroit. I got my ticks cheap and look forward to seeing my Skins win in Detroit!!!!!! I hope to god Zorny lets Jason open up the air game!!!!!

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

Lions find a way to upset us and we come home pissed off because the game could have went in our favor if not for the misfortune of one crucial play...again

The hell with superstition, the Lion's trainers are going to be peeling Burgandy and Gold paint off of Blue Jerseys for the rest of the year.

Ford Field is going to be renamed the Portis Dome.

Lions players are going quit playing football and take their rightfull place in the Redskins players wives section of the stadium, because the Skins have just made them their B-I-itch!

Big game through the air this week for JC! Look for Randel El and Moss to each score, plus CP will punch at least one in. I am also predicting a pick 6 from Rogers, so my prediction is 38 Skins, Lions 6! WHOO! LETS GO 6-2!
