Santana Moss on Jim Rome

Did anyone else catch that today on the radio. When asked about ST, he just got really emotion and described him as a guy with the biggest heart. Several times he sounded a bit choked up.

And he went on to say how he was really "ticked off" how people in the media initially said ST had his fate coming when they didn't know him at all. It was pretty strong and genuine.

Re: Santana Moss on Jim Rome

The more I learn about Moss as a new comer, the more I like him. I really think he is quickly becoming a personal favorite for me.

Although as I learn more about Cooley, Portis, Cambell, Taylor, I'm liking more and more to. And I am in awe of Jim Zorn. I know you guys are still testing him out, but just personality wise he is such a character!

I write fiction as a hobby, and I think one of the reasons I was able to really get into this sport, having no previous experince in it, was because I chose the redskins. These guys have such great stories, and such well defined personality and character. In fact they are so alive, so passionate, so unique, that even when they are not in an interview, just watching them play the game, you can see in every play a little of their personality coming out. It's really an amazing sight to see.

Ok Redwarrior...I'll bite...I have a lot of questions. No different when you hear of a 30 or 40 y/o who has never driven a car.

1. How old are you?
2. Guy/Gal?
3. New to being a football fan? if not what team previously?
4. Who locked you in the basement?
5. Did you thank the person who let you out?

I know I sound like a dick and I'm sorry but I'm genuenly fascinated. Honestly.

Oh and Welcome to the Bandwagon.

YouTube - Jim Rome
Jim Rome himself is not real proud of this moment. I think he would admit to growing up alot since this happened.

It's still uncomfortable to look at.

Re: Santana Moss on Jim Rome

I love how any mention of Jim Rome automatically brings up the Jim Everett incident, every single time. When was that, 15 years ago or so?

Good interview with Moss. He lost a close friend, that's gonna hurt for a long time. I can't even imagine.

lol. No offense taken, I'm here to learn and thanks fr asking.

I'm 22.

I'm a guy. And because I feel like there was an undertone in that statement, for the record I'm straight. =)

Yes I am completely new to being a football fan.

Alot of people locked me in the basement, and yes I gave myself a big pat on the back when I kicked open the lock and killed the door man. >=)

My story, if you really want to know, is basically this. I didn't grow up in a football house hold, and my friends were usally just not that into it. At least my close friends weren't. Thats just kind of the hand I was dealt. One day the bug just sort of hit me...Actualley the story is a little more interesting but it invovles politicts so I'll save it.

Anyway, fact is most people learn to love the sport from their parents and I didn't have that oppritunity. I came to it pretty late but look at it this way: I chosse to be here on my own. I was interested enough to put myself on the line, jump right in there with all you guys, and go ahead and embarass myself a few times saying stupid stuff out of ignorance. But I'm having a blast, loving every minute of it, and I love the redskins!

My only regret is that I never got to play as a kid. I'd like to still. I thought about trying out for an open flag league next year in my area if I learn the mechanics quick enough. I'm skinny, but I'm in good shape. I've been a martial artist all my life and already train vigorously. I'd love to know how it feels to complete a play.

I think this sport has so much to offer, and I'm glad times have changed and there seems to be alot more out reach to groups f people who normally would never have been able to get into the sport. Everyone here on the forum has been great, showing me the ropes and being patient with me. Good times sure to be had by all. =)

Yeah, it's crazy that you're just getting into it, but look at it this way, you haven't had to suffer over the years like the rest of us. Hopefully, you won't have to suffer as a Skins fan for a long time. I truly believe that with the coach and players that we have, we should consistently be very competitive for a long time and hopefully win a Super Bowl or 2. Welcome and keep rooting for the Skins!!

My wife is similar to you in that she never ever watched football growing up. She is from NY and a die hard Yankees fan, which drives me crazy. Anyway, I'm an absolute nut about the Skins and it has rubbed off on her. She has a Portis jersey and has to watch every game, even if I go to the bar with friends to watch it, she will sit at home with our dog and watch it and call or text about the game. All of her friends from NY are always like "WTF"! when they see that she is a Skins fan. Watching them is addictive!
HAIL!!

It does not matter how you became a Redskins fan, or even where you are located and a Redskins fan. I have been die hard for years, but I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I bleed burgandy and gold, but have taken my fair share of ribbing up here since DC is so far away. Keep asking questions, keep Hailing the Redskins, and good luck with your flag football, it is a great sport and you will have a blast. Being that you are from the area, if you really want to catch the bug, I recommend getting tickets to the game. Seeing it live will make you fall in love with the team even more. I have been to FedEx twice now and it was amazing.

Hail.
