Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
I remember all the LaVar Love that went on when Williams wouldn't play him. It was as if LaVar was some superhero who was being deeply wronged by an egotistical coach. Perhaps Williams was right and the LaVar Lovers were wrong. Hmmmmm, imagine that.
I still remember Gibbs' first draft day party held at FedEx. He, Buges and Williams were on a stage soaking in the fans excitement and someone shouted out to Gibbs "how you gonna get a pass-rush". Gibbs gave some answer about finding ways to maike it happen while behind his back Williams kept flashing "5" "6" with his hands. These guys came in thinking LaVar was gonna be the man. But just like with every other pro coach he had, LaVar was gonna be LaVar and damn the assignment. He has been bad mouthing Gibbs from the moment he left the Skins. At one of his first Giants' news conferences, he was asked who the worst coach he ever played for was and, without hesitating, he said Gibbs. I lost ALL respect for him after that. One last note: After leaving, the players were asked about his departure and one (identified only as a "team leader") responded along the lines "he made a couple of plays a game, but there were at least three games where his mistakes cost us the game." The LaVar Lovers always made excuses for this waste of talent, but I just think he was an overrated me-first player. If only Fletcher had LaVar's talent, he would be the best LB in the history of the game (not saying Fletch is not talented only that Fletch gets the most out every bit of his ability).

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
If you're going to spend your time in the D.C. area being a professional ex-Redskin, it's probably best to focus on positive things. Sonny Jurgensen hated George Allen so he chooses to talk about Lombardi instead. If he's asked about Allen he tells a funny story or he calmly admits that the two weren't a match made in heaven.
It must be hard to have to retire at such a young age, though. (although I would definitely give it a go for that money) Some people just can't overcome knee injuries at all. Or amybe they take longer than others and the team tries to push them to come back too soon, or they push themselves. All I know is that Lavar definitely lossed a step after he hurt his knee and without the speed, he didn't have much to recommend him as a player.

Gibbs is a legend, and LaVar is not. Period. It is what it is, and there are repercussions when you call out someone the caliber of Gibbs. This isn't just something unique of the Skins, happens all over the league and the real world.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
LaVar has become a crybaby and these particular comments are just sad, but I find it hard to believe than anyone with an ounce of football knowledge(including Gregg Williams), thinks that in 2005, Warrick Holdman was a better option at outside linebacker than LaVar Arrington.

At least Holdman did what his coaches said to do...Arrington did not play within the scheme and couldn't be trusted on the field.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
Lavar just seems like the kind of guy who lives in the past, he just can't let go of the past. He's sitting there talking about being Lawrence Taylor...I mean c'mon Lavar. And there is no reason to call Joe a coward. That's just awful. He's lost all my respect.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
Gibbs ran LaVar out of town, and injuries and a motorcycle accident ruined his career. But was anyone here saying "fu*k him" and cursing his career and life while he was playing well for us? Smarten up people. Don't be so fairweather and shortsighted.
OH NO! Someone insulted Gibbs! Arm the Redskins fan militia! Everyone here needs to calm the eff down. LaVar is clearly frustrated with the way his career abruptly ended, and this is just sour grapes. Did anyone here think LaVar was a pathetic joke loser when he was crying while giving a speech at Sean Taylor's funeral? Or making pro-bowls for us? He should have kept his mouth shut, but gimmie a break folks. Some of these reactions are just lame.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
Lavar continues to make stupid decisions. He should not have critized Gibbs. Soon, he will ruin his broadcasting career also. Joe Gibbs record stands on its own, I am greatfull for him coming back to coach our team to two playoff appearances. Last year was one of his greatest achievements, taking them to the playoffs with half the offensesive line gone and half of the secondary gone, McIntosh gone and Sean Taylor murdered. It was amazing. Lavar needs to grow up, and realize that he simply did not live up to his legacy. If he can still play football like he claims, then he is the coward. He is loosing his fan base, fast. Me included.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
I would love to hear from some of JG's former players like Monte Coleman on LA comments about JG. Monte would kick and wipe his ASS with Lavar Arrington.
LAVAR=ASS Anyone have any toilet paper so I can wipe my LAVAR?
