I dont care how many yards he gets. If he would score some points then maybe the crapping would stop.

Kinda tough to blame that on all on Moss though.

Time for a new O line. Keep Chris and Steph., Cooley Yoder and Davis. Backs, Rock and Mike S. (play him or trade him), Betts or CP, just keep one, We need to be younger.
WR's Thrash, El, time for retirement. Just to old. |

Seems to me a big reason for the lack of points is our amazing ability to have a dropped pass or a penalty at the absolute worst time... drive killers.

The fact that the people who are consistently killing us are not starters should tell you how thin the line is between our passing game and some of the best passing games. I don't know why we can't seem to get over it (well, I can, maddening inconsistencies in passing game execution, but it's that I can't explain). If we did not one thing to the offense, resigned Kendall, and brought back all 11 guys, I think we would have a top ten, maybe top five passing game next year if Zorn played his personnel right. But for the sake of age, I hope we go young on the lines.

Also, the kicker has been absolutely killing us as of late.

True, but a couple more FGs here and there isn't going to help much, we need a couple more TDs here and there instead.

We need our line to improve & a secondary receiver to step up Cooley is having a pretty decent year but he is having to block to much. I'm hoping Kelly can be that other outside threat to take some pressure off Portis & Moss.

Re: What's wrong with the passing game? (Non-JC edition)
As far as the lack of deep passes, I dont think much of the blame can go to Campbell the wr's or even Zorn. I said this last year, and earlier this season . . .
1. WR's aren't going to catch many deep balls if only a handful come their way all season. 2. Moss, arguably the best option as a deep threat can't get seperation if he is being double and triple teamed. 3. Campbell can't throw deep balls if he doesn't have time to sit in the pocket and deliver them, let alone develop timing with his WR's. 4. Zorn can't keep calling the deep routes if Campbell keeps getting hurried, hit, sacked, etc. Most of the blame has to fall on the O-line. I think our current starting recievers would be serviceable if Campbell had more time to make plays downfield, but clearly improvement is needed (especially from the rooks) for our passing game to be legit. |

This is one thing I noticed also. Did our defense get worse since Jason Taylor has been healthy or is that a coincidence...lol

Re: What's wrong with the passing game? (Non-JC edition)
I'm 100% on the "O-line is our #1 problem" bandwagon as well...
My favorite call was a week or two ago when Zorn went 5 wide and hit ARE on a drag for a touchdown. The perfect play for a shitty o-line. We take what we can get, and that's been doing more screens, more drags, and more quick hitches and such. The problem is, that's incredibly easy for a defense to focus their game plan on. The second Zorn tries to get creative and throw something at a defense, our guys can no longer execute because they f up; get confused, run the wrong route, Campbell makes the wrong read etc. Hence the reason we've scored five touchdowns in five weeks. We can't sustain drives. The fact is, without an o-line, the offense Zorn installed will NOT work. Ever. It has been too hard at this point of the season to adjust. So we're not executing.
