Re: Redskins vs. Ravens pre-game thread
Quote:
Philly has its probs but beating Philly in Philly is a quality win. Particularly when it comes right after a road win in Dallas. New Orleans was a quality win (certainly as equal in quality as Miami for the Ravens, see below). Arizona was a quality win. Baltimore beat Philly and Miami. Other than that it was Cinci (2), Cleveland (2), Houston and Oakland - No Arizona or Dallas equivalents. Baltimore has lost to NY Giants, Tennessee, Indianapolis and Pittsburg. So no, they don't have a St. Louis Rams type loss on their schedule. Other than St. Louis, however, our losses are Dallas, Pitt, and the NYG's (2). All in all, w/o breaking it down further, we have beaten slightly better teams then they have beaten and, other than St. Louis, lost to teams of similar caliber. Not sure the two teams are, as CRedskins said, the top two non-elite teams of the league - 'cause I'm not sure how limited "elite" is. I think both teams are clearly second tier teams in the same class as Dallas, Atlanta & Patriots and slighty ahead of teams like Arizona, Miami, Denver & Minnesota (the other 7-5 teams). Certainly we have the capability to beat any of those teams, but only if the offense recaptures its early season success. Which leads me to my prediction: two tough defenses - but their offense has been making strides while ours has stalled: Baltimore 21 Skins 10 You don't know how much it hurts to say that. My Baltimore coworkers will NEVER let me hear the end of it.
