Just wanted to point out one quick thing...

Ifeanyi Ohelete had 103 tackles last year (2nd on the team) and 3 INT's (also 2nd on the team, one behind Smoot's 4). He recorded these totals in 15 games.

Someone please show me a more statistically PRODUCTIVE safety last year please? Well, I'll help you...

When you go to this page Defensive Back Rankings , you will see Defensive Backs across the NFL ranked according to their production (tackles, INTs, forced fumbles, pass deflections, etc.)

You wil be suprised to see that there are NO, I repeat NO NFC defensive backs ranked higher... I know I was suprised. I mean, I knew he had 100 tackles and 3 INTs, which I thought was respectable, but numbers don't lie... he IS a productive safety. I think because he is not a "big hitter" like Roy Williams is supposed to be, or not as well-known as a Mike Minter, he is severely underrated, and sadly, most underrated by us... Redskin fans.

Look, I am not the President of the Iffy club... but I think we could be doing much worse at the position and Ohelete is still only 25. He SHOULD improve. He has EARNED the WASHINGTON REDSKINS #26 and it is his to give up or keep. For someone to assume he should give it up is kind of disrespectful. If he were to have been traded to the Broncos and asked for the number off Portis' back, how hard do you think Clinton would have laughed in his face??

I'm not bashing Portis at all... but come on... it's well documented that the guy is at least SOMEWHAT similar to "Leon" from the Bud commercials. I just think that Portis should take #36 (or did Timmy Smith retire that one? hahaha) or #25 and be done with it... but mostly I wanted to point out that Ohelete isn't quite the sloutch or chump some of you guys make him sound like....
