Re: Jason Taylor says he's not worth $8 million
i think he would restructure too.....i heard the interview on the junkies radio show, they made a good point, its not him. not one guy on our dline has gotten to the quarterback. i am starting to think that greg blache is running a scheme that is so vanilla it is deteramental to the pass rush.........i think taylor wanted to agree with these assessments but stayed above the nonsense to avoid further locker room dissent. but its starting to make a whole lote of sense and taylor also said "though his production is down, this dog can still hunt, i just need to get comfortable and be in the right situations."

Re: Jason Taylor says he's not worth $8 million
Good news is that we didn't do the moronic thing after the deal and sign him to a long term thing to lower the cap hit.
Don't worry though, there's still time to screw this one up.

Re: Jason Taylor says he's not worth $8 million
There's no reason at all that he SHOULD consider a pay cut, he signed this current deal in Miami when he was well worth the money. That contract was picked up by the Redskins in good faith.
The Dolphins ate ALL of Taylor's guarenteed money when he was dealt here, so here's what the Redskins should do once they decide that Taylor is not worth the money. Cut him. Negotiate a two year contract with him that pays him how we are expecting him to play. And if somebody wants him more than we do (trust me, there won't be), he's gone and all we lose is the 2nd round pick we've already lost anyway.

Re: Jason Taylor says he's not worth $8 million
I thought the part where he says he can still play and implies that he's not being used right here is being overlooked.

Let's not bring him back, let Evans take over that position and draft some depth. How about building from the ground up instead of always building top down? |

Re: Jason Taylor says he's not worth $8 million
It says in today's Post that the compartment syndrome that messed his leg up is still bleeding so obviously he's not and hasnt been 100% this year. I'm not saying he's worth $8mil but I dont think he's been able to really show what he can do.

Re: Jason Taylor says he's not worth $8 million
Could be an excellent situational pass rusher if he's healthy next year...not at 8 mil of course though.

Re: Jason Taylor says he's not worth $8 million
As said before, our ends would be a lot better if we could get pressure up the middle to help them out.

The first step to improvement is being able to realize the truth. He isn't for what we got out of him this year.

Re: Jason Taylor says he's not worth $8 million
well heres the truth, greg blache doesnt use him right. if you bring jason taylor here and want him to be phil daniels then you are a retard. this guy is a 3-4 rush linebacker who puts his hand in the dirt on the edge. call it what you want but the truth is in a 3-4 scheme he is still worth the money miami contracted him for....he had 11.5 sacks last year, in a 3-4 scheme. comes to washington and now his number 1 priority is to stop the run? not his strength at all but he is ok at it. but you want 8 million out of taylor, get rid of blache who wanted to retire last year anyways. bring someone in here that isnt stubborn and will uses his talents and free him up to rush the passer.....thats when he will be worth 8 million, but we all know that wont happen and as long as blache is the def coordinator jason taylor and the rest of our dline will be a non factor.
