Re: 2009 Free Agents
Hmmm. I'd take him over Williams anyday. You might be on to something Angry.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
Yeah, it was either yesterday or the day before. I saw a news report questioning why, on the 20th anniversary of the day he bought the Cowboys, he would be spending time in Philadelphia.

ProFootballTalk.com - JONES WAS IN PHILLY TO MEET WITH COMCAST Convenient itinerary though, given how close Baltimore is to Philthy.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
This would be nice: Hunter Smith
on the free agent front, the Redskins obviously need a punter and veteran Hunter Smith would appear to be a good fit. The Redskins aren't allowed to contact Smith's agent, Tom Mills, until 12:01 a.m. Friday even though Smith opted out of his contract with Indianapolis. The contract doesn't expire until midnight. Smith's 38.8-yard net average was far better than the Redskins' collective 33.4-yard net average, which was last in the NFL. Smith spent the first 10 years of his career kicking half of his games indoors but he's worth a look. Mills said if the Redskins are interested, Smith is interested. "It would be a logical destination," Mills said Dockery, punter talk - Redskins 360 - Washington Redskins Blog - The Washington Times |

He's got to be the longest tenured ring leader any circus has ever had!

Re: 2009 Free Agents
Anyone have any thoughts on Geoff Hangartner (Panthers backup OL)?

Re: 2009 Free Agents
I know he was 1st team all-big 12 (Texas A&M) in 2004. Isn't he a center? Could be a nice depth move if he can play some guard, too. He'd definitely be inexpensive.

The Center market is absolutely loaded though not only in free agency, but in the draft. If Rabach is on the team next year we have only the front office to blame.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
Buffalo’s purge continues. The bills released tight end Robert Royal today. Earlier, they let go of guard Derrick Dockery. The Bills are clearing cap space and making moves, and they might not be done. Royal was also a Skin at one time

Please no one recommend that we pick up Royal because he was one of our more terrible players of the past. He could not catch and when he did, he could not hold on to the ball. The guy is a walking turnover.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
We held on to him because of potential. It never developed. Please...don't even think about it.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
Everyone calm down. No one suggested we go after Royal. 44 just mentioned he used to be a Redskin.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
Oh I agree Skinny. The only reason I even posted it is because of his past ties with the Skins. I don't think anyone wants this guy
