Very true. When I was working in mortgage banking, my company did a background check obviously, and I also had to sign a consent form allowing them to run my credit. This is fairly common practice in the financial sector. It makes sense. I wouldn't want to hire someone to handle/advise on financial matters if they can't even keep their own stuff in order.
