D Line in this draft seems not very deep
After reading about all the D linemen each top players seem to have draw backs! Is it to me or is this a chancey bet? Harris has away of doing nothing in big games. Another could have a weight problem and the kid from USC has not played great competiton. The Kid from Maryland is raw but seems not that far of from the rest! So what do you all think? I can't see any of the D lineman worth 5th pick in a draft for that kind of money. I might be wrong about Harris on that one but the others I really don't think they are number 5 pick in a draft! That leaves us to trade down or take Taylor or Winslow. Love to hear what all you have to say!

I think you're right. The Redskins are positioned to take the 5th best player in all of college football. That should be an impact player, a playmaker
Not to take anything away from Harris or Udeze, both are very, very good players, but Taylor and Winslow are elite players. It should be one of them.

I see a lot of mock drafts with the Redskins taking Udeze or Harris at #5. I have to assume that the people who compile these things don't know their asses from a hole in the ground.

As I said in the Thrash post, if we can get picks for Gardner and Trotter (assuming they are gone), then we are probably looking at a 2nd or 3rd round pick being available and possibly trading up further. In either case, I think we can pick up a good DL AND Taylor with those kind of picks. It all depends on the trades.
As to the depth, I don't get to see college ball really over here, but a lot of people are talking up Udeze, so... |

Seeing as how we just traded for Thrash, maybe our gameplan is to aquire all of the available receivers with talent. To that end, we'll probably just take Roy Williams or Larry Fitzgerald. Then we can run a 7 wide receiver set that will be impossible to stop. That'll leave Ramsey at QB, Portis at RB and Samuels LT, Raymer C and Thomas RT to block. Perfect! It's not like the pass protection could be any worse than last year.
Nah, we should definitely be taking Taylor. I just hope that some team doesn't trade up to grab him ahead of us. I know the Lions were considering it before they got Marion. |

I don't think many will want to trade up for him - it's too expensive a trade and I can't see us giving up #5, no matter how many picks we are offered.
I got a feeling most of the scrabbling in this draft will come at the end of the 1st round and during the 2nd round. |
