First let me say I don't agree with it, but it was this statistical analysis that said when Boldin was up against the game's elite receivers (usually Fitz gets that guy), Boldin's yards per catch and completion rate were ok. Basically saying that without Fitzgerald you may experience a significant drop-off in Boldin's peformance. Sort of how, but perhaps not to the extreme extent, of how Bryant Johnson kinda sucked this year.
