And while we are at it... F ice! We got about 2 inches of snow from this latest storn yesterday and now it has been sleeting for about 10 hours.

Yeah, it took me a good 20 minutes to clear the ice off my car, and then on the way in at least 3 large sheets of it flew off of other cars and nearly hit me.
The worst part is that I'm not very busy at the moment, so it really wasnt worth the risk to come to work today.

When I had a long commute I normally called out it is not worth the chance. I always said I will go in when I make more then my deductable ($500) in a day.

Now I am less then a mile and with a 4Runner I can either walk or drive without getting into trouble.

I'd rather be too cold than hot. You can only take so much off. I like the cold because when the ground freezes it kills the mosquito eggs. We used to get snow all the time. That was before Al Gore. F all Gore and his global warming. We all take off of work when it snows and inch and get paid for it. He he he
