The best player wins the position.

Call it a 'rebuilding season' from tomorrow on.
While I think this approach works in Basketball, I do not believe it will deliver results in the NFL. The reason is that there is very little to gain from a top draft pick, unless it turns out to be a franchise quarterback. Otherwise, top picks drain the salary cap and are rarely game changers (look at Chris Samuals, Lavar Arrington, LaRon Landry). A team that dumps veterans in this manner could end up in a losing rut that lasts a half decade.

I agree with you except the part about LaRon "dirty thirty" Landry not being a game changer. The dude is the best young safety out there and a top 5 safety in the league. He has the rare mix of speed and the ability to deliver the blow and I would have to say he is our most athletic player. But most of all he brings a certain swagger to the table, a swagger that not many have, the only other guy I can think of that had it was Sean T. It's that certain mentality of not caring who it is hes gonna take there head off, I believe he learned this along with alot of other things from Sean T. He has been close the past two years from making the pro bowl, its just a matter of time before this kid is one of the most elite safeties in the leage for years to come, and this matter of time is very very short.

I'm not sure what swagger you're talking about? Do you mean he swaggered back and forth after Jacobs ran over him?
