Re: Chimp beatdown
They said the chimp grew up with the family, logged onto the internet (I think maybe it also goes by the name Kidwell
), drank wine, watched tv...but at the end of the day it's still a wild animal. I think I heard it had been taking medication for lyme disease and that's what set it off. This chimp lived five minutes away from me, apparently he would hang around downtown a lot. I never personally saw him though.

Re: Chimp beatdown
What a horrible story. It's totally irresponsible to keep a chimpanzee as a pet IMO, even if he had no history of aggression.
There was a story similar to this a few years back I remember reading. Some elderly couple got totally mauled by a chimp. They are freakishly strong.

Re: Chimp beatdown
Definitely. My girlfriend and I went to the National Zoo here in DC last summer, and just going into the ape house made me a little nervous. I know there is thick glass in between spectators and the animals, but a few of those big ass gorillas did not look happy. I wouldn't put it past them to smash that glass.
