Got a weak source on that one) we have to look at free agency.
If true, that would be a great deal for a number of reasons:

1) We would be getting a much needed draft pick at a round certain to yield us a good special teams player at minimum.
2) If we couldnt trade him, we'd have to cut him and get nothing in return.
3) I get the pleasure of knowing we screwed Springs over by making him play for the sorry texans.
4) The Texans get a player who would never in a million years come to them of his own free will
5) There arent as many stiff breezes in Houston, so theres less of a chance a 1 MPH wind will result in Springs being injured and inactive on gameday.
6) Springs will be much closer to his father and will have a shorter flight to visit him on the weeks he schedules his calf injuries.
7) Springs will be just a hop, skip, and jump away from his BFF Terrell Owens house. Instead of flying, he can just drive over to T.O.s crib and they can watch the playoffs together again.

I'd like to hear some capologists chime in on this deal. Sounds like a front heavy contract and basically a 3 year deal.

The Haynesworth jersey is probably selling right now on Redskins.com

I guess Danny knows how to put asses in the in seats. Whether our Offseason Superbowl victory will equate to anything we'll see this year I guess...

...I'm not disappointed but I'm not excited...wierd.

Unless we can pick up a OL player in free agency or two then go LB in a deep draft at that spot!

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!

You know, When I heard about the deal, I was absolutely shocked. I started texting family and telling them how pissed I was about all this money being spent...

But in all honesty... This is exactly what we've needed for years. We found our answer to Brandon Jacobs. We have exactly the player that this line has been lacking. We have two DE's that have consistently made QB's step into the pocket, but have always lacked the penetrating DT's to collapse it. Enter AH.

This will instantly make our defense top 3. I think this is the perfect player for this team, and if your going to get the perfect player, you've got to pay perfect player money.

I'm officially on the AH bandwagon.

since our D was top 4 last year, i'd hope it'd make us top 3 this year

though i expect sacks and our own points per game will increase (as a result of turnovers).

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!

Alot of you will be surprised, especially given our tone and the way we writ eon dcprosportsreport.com about the Redskins, much of our criticism well deserved, but here are my thoughts on Haynesworth. Granted, my part at dcprosportsreport.com will likely have an entirely different view.

There were 6 other teams in the running. Word is, several of them were not offering what the Redskins were BUT were pretty darn close. So, my feeling is, was this a position of great need? Answer, YES. Is he the best at his position in the NFL? MOST would say YES. So, would I have offered that deal? YES.

Now, i do believe much of the guaranteed money will be paid in the uncapped salary year of next year? Is that correct?

Overall, good signing.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!

Still a little uncertain about how much we'll be able to depend on Haynesworth, but when you think about just from a pure talent level 70% effort and performance out of Haynesworth is probably close to 100% out of Golston.

But this is exactly what Blache wanted, a dominant DT

Lets hope he gives it at least 70% I wonder how many warpathers are in favor of the Haynesworth aquisition vs how many against it?
(yes I'm hinting of a poll)

I'm 100% not in favor of this move. History shows that these type of moves rarely pan out. Haynesworth has already played 7 years and has a history of getting hurt and has questionable character. The only good thing about this is that we didn't have to give up draft picks. Another bad move by the FO.
