If KC pays Cassel like a franchise QB, they're crazy, but at the same time, I don't see how you make this move without extending him.

Actually according to NFL Netowrk several teams were calling about him TB being one of them.

This is a good trade for both teams. NE couldn't keep Cassel at 14mil and KC needs a QB.

Is Cassel really an upgrade over Thigpen though? I, like the rest of the world, tend to think he is, but thats heavily based on conjecture.

As we learned from the Taylor trade, a second round pick is still a steep price to pay.

Cassell might have a better plight than Derek Anderson, but I have to think he's in a similar boat as Thigpen from what we know about him thus far.
