Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?

I'm so sick of this saga, I can't wait until saturday when it will all be over. The skins front office are a bunch of idiots. You can really see the difference between when Joe Gibbs was there running things to now. It's like a bad car wreck, you just can't turn away..I just hope what ever happens to Jason Campbell he will come out on top of the situation.

I feel same thing (sort of).. Especially in the bold part, I truly hope he does come out on top of the situation, as well..

How exactly? When we went up for Campbell we traded on the Thursday before into the bottom of the 1st and everyone knew we were targeting him. What would have happened if someone scooped him before us, how moronic would we have looked then?

I'm not talking about the trading up or trading down to acquire the player you want. What I'm talking about is the fact that when Joe Gibbs was here everything was done in a more professional manner. We didn't have the big top circus outside the front gate like we do now. There is nothing wrong with targeting your guy if that is who you want to get in the draft. All I'm saying is I wish we were a little more professional about the whole situation. (i.e. Patriots, Colts, Giants, Steelers, Eagles,etc.....)

It's not the Redskins creating the big top circus, as much as it is the media...and for that, I apologize

Hate to burst your bubble but it was exactly like this with Gibbs.. Remember the Brunell pursuit? The Lavar Arrington saga? The free agency class of '06? There's not much difference.

Like SS said, it's really media driven. Recall last offseason when we didn't do anything in free agency and had all of those draft picks they still tried to throw the Redskins name in everything going on. This offseason has been wild in the NFL, period. The fact we've been active in pursuing a QB makes it look more chaotic than it actually is.

I hope Jason stays our QB. I live in Ohio about one hour from Pittsburgh & I have been a Skins fan for 37 years. Jason is he is a quality guy plus Joe Gibbs saw something in him.

To be fair, Joe Gibbs also saw something in Snyder.

I love Joe Gibbs but this last part here doesn't mean very much. Gibbs was never a personnel guy. He was out of the game for 11 years, saw one workout of Campbell, and took the plunge.

Isn't it possible Gibbs was wrong about Jason Campbell?

Smoot, how crazy is it at that place? I mean between all the rumors, and people trying to get the scoop, I imagine it is quite a wild coffee room right now.

Well, I sit on a different floor from all the general craziness but it's not so crazy really. This weekend will be pretty insane. But we've gotten so used to it all that it's not such a big deal.

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?

Snyder should be leveraging the fact that we're going to suck next year into offering a 2010 third rounder instead of a second rounder.

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?

Just saw a piece on SportsCenter about how risky drafting underclass QBs can be, followed up by Trent Dilfer raving about Sanchez being one of his "can't miss prospects".

I'm so confused. I'm excited about what Dilfer had to say, yet not thrilled about the idea of having a rookie under center.

Trent Dilfer is smarter than history.
