Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
To be honest I'm not totally opposed to taking Sanchez, but to take a DB or RB in the 3rd round as well would just be overkill. At the very least if they had signed Ray Willis none of this would have been a problem. Right now though their best option if they choose not to draft a Tackle is to sign Kwame Harris and hope like hell that he can be developed.

I would be all for keeping one of the new RB's as a change of pace. Keep the other on practice squad. Then go after a big bruising RB to spell Portis once and a while. Then get rid of both Rock and Betts...perhaps in trades. |

There really isn't any point in drafting another RB if he's only going to get 60 or 70 attempts all season while Portis gets over 300. |

If we get a good enough change of pace back Portis would noth have to take 300 a season and about 35-45 of those carries can go to the other guy.

So is Portis overworked because the coaches want him to be overworked, and we're wasting Betts' talents? Or is Betts only getting 4-5 carries per game because we play a lot of close games and Betts represents a significant downgrade from Portis that needs to be corrected?

He played himself into a nice contract a couple of years ago when Portis was hurt and good for him, but he's just a guy-nothing special.

Betts isn't terrible, but he's not nearly as good as Portis and doesn't bring anything new to the table. He a worse blocker, a worse receiver, and he fumbles more.
