Well it looks like the Jason Campbell era will soon be over.. I don't know if Sanchez is a HUGE upgrade over Campbell!!!!!! But DS loves Sanchez and we all know he will do what it takes to get him.

Day 1 is already going to be a single draft pick unless we trade down.

Sanchez is a smoke screen, they really want Monroe at 5th. I say go get him. Take LB and depth at DE in the 5th and 7th rounds. Trade your 13th, 3rd round, and 6th round to get the 5th overall. 2010 is looking like an uncapped year with all our picks still available. Plug the gaps at DE (since our DE are one year contracts, and fill any other gaps in 2010. Remember, our Defense was 4th overall in the entire NFL last year, but we finished with a mediocre record. Our Offense didn't have what it needed (talent wise) to maintain down the stretch.

Yep...Sat. is looking like a night of hard drinking to obliterate the day's memories.

BTW does anybody think Danny/Vinny are catching on to all the negative fan reaction surrounding the Sanchez deal? I mean shit even those who (wrongly) doubt JC's abilities aren't excited about this...

I am one of those who doubts JC's ability to become more than a Journeyman QB. I have said in previous posts that I do think He has a chance to have a Kerry Collins type of career/level of success. That being said, I do not believe Stafford will be able to translate to the NFL. He strikes me as a Jamarcus Russell, Uses arm stregnth to force balls into places that will be picked off in the NFL, and doesn't always make good reads/judgements. Sanchez on the other hand may or may not translate to the NFL. But, the lack of experience almost assuredly says that he will not be ready to lead a NFL team for a long time. (multiple seasons) JC is our best shot right now and we have colt to groom as a project. We need to give JC all the tools to succeed. LINEMAN!!!

What if this is a smoke screen and we are trading up to ensure we get one of the top lone men.

If we do this to address a real need by selecting Orakpo or the best OT available, then I'm fine with that. We are fine at QB - Campbell is a decent starter and we have quality backups, why can't Snyderatto see that???

PLEASE NO NO NO NO NO HELL NO!
Do not trade up for NOBODY!
Stand pat and draft whoever falls to us. If the 4 OL, Rey and/or Orakpo are gone, trade down!
I think JC must have sex'd Danny's wife or something?! What does the FO have against this man so much? Geez enough already!

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap

Well drafting Sanchez at 13 is questionable, but I'd be ok with it, provided we are able to move Campbell for something solid and can make some other moves to get some more day 1 picks to fill needs.

Trading up to get Sanchez is very questionable, but I'd be ok with it, provided we (see above). But it's less likely we could do that if we trade up for Sanchez.

But trading up to #5 is not likely going to be enough to get us Sanchez anyway, and besides haven't we learned not to get so worked up over every rumor that's out there. Or not?

So in either case you'd be okay with seeing Mark Sanchez start at QB against the New York Giants on September 13? Assuming we could get a 1st or a 2nd for Jason Campbell?

Is it possible Campbell is done as a Redskin this year even if they aren't able to get Sanchez?

I'd rather they kept Campbell, accepted that he's not a superstar QB, but a really good one that they can win with if they build pieces around him (namely, in front of him).

But they appear not to be committed to keeping him long term. So if you're going to let him go then get something out of it. And if you're going to commit so heavily to another project essentially, then go balls to the wall and truly commit. If you think he's the next Matt Ryan, then play him like the Falcons played Ryan.
