The more I think about this the more I want to kick Danny in the gonads. I was looking forward to the draft, now it will just be a relief to get day one done.

I'm a deep Skins fan but enough already! JC was 6-2 when the o-line was right and 2-6 when the right side fell apart and samuels got hurt. take the best o-tackle or trade back and get best available athlete. plain and simple.

I've never been a big draft guy. I mean, I don't expect our draft picks to produce immediately.. This year I feel like we need to draft a player that WILL contribute immediately with our first pick... Sanchez is not ready and probably never will be a playmaker for us.

I'm with your way of thinking. Rookies usually don't start their first yr no matter what position they play unless the team is really hurting at the position; ie: Horton, Heyer.

but I honestly see us going after Sanchez because I honestly believe DS, Cerrato and Zorn are not impressed with JC. I'm betting Zorn is the one sending the message to DS that he wants a better QB. I went back to my draft mags last night to see why he's so special and why we would even be interested. All of them say he's dead on accurate with all his throws. He's good at short, intermediate, and long passes. He knows where to drop the ball only so the WR can get it. His passes come out prior to the WR making his break for the ball. He played in a pro style of offense and he reads defenses well prior to the snap.

The only knock everyone had on him was he only started 16 games. They felt he did not have much time leading a team.

I can actually see us taking him and letting him learn the plays all yr and get tutored by Zorn for next yr unless JC really flubs up or Sanchez really out plays JC and gets to start this yr.

If we trade up for Sanchez, me first!

There would be a long line for that first spot.

I just have trouble seeing this kid being an NFL star...am I the only one? Trade up for Stafford, that I could see in terms of wanting more of a sure thing, but not Sanchez.

SS, if this deal goes down can you get us an address? I've a few bones to pick with the FO. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Well it looks like the Jason Campbell era will soon be over.. I don't know if Sanchez is a HUGE upgrade over Campbell!!!!!! But DS loves Sanchez and we all know he will do what it takes to get him.

Day 1 is already going to be a single draft pick unless we trade down.

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap

Sanchez is a smoke screen, they really want Monroe at 5th. I say go get him. Take LB and depth at DE in the 5th and 7th rounds. Trade your 13th, 3rd round, and 6th round to get the 5th overall. 2010 is looking like an uncapped year with all our picks still available. Plug the gaps at DE (since our DE are one year contracts, and fill any other gaps in 2010. Remember, our Defense was 4th overall in the entire NFL last year, but we finished with a mediocre record. Our Offense didn't have what it needed (talent wise) to maintain down the stretch.

Yep...Sat. is looking like a night of hard drinking to obliterate the day's memories.

BTW does anybody think Danny/Vinny are catching on to all the negative fan reaction surrounding the Sanchez deal? I mean shit even those who (wrongly) doubt JC's abilities aren't excited about this...

I am one of those who doubts JC's ability to become more than a Journeyman QB. I have said in previous posts that I do think He has a chance to have a Kerry Collins type of career/level of success. That being said, I do not believe Stafford will be able to translate to the NFL. He strikes me as a Jamarcus Russell, Uses arm stregnth to force balls into places that will be picked off in the NFL, and doesn't always make good reads/judgements. Sanchez on the other hand may or may not translate to the NFL. But, the lack of experience almost assuredly says that he will not be ready to lead a NFL team for a long time. (multiple seasons) JC is our best shot right now and we have colt to groom as a project. We need to give JC all the tools to succeed. LINEMAN!!!
