Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Meanwhile, the Eagles may get Gonzalez. Wonder what they would have to give up for him

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Smootsmack:
I hear they are offering a third round pick and the Chiefs want a second round pick. That's supposedly the hang-up on the deal. Matty: Agree that Braylon Edwards looks a lot like Rod Gardner II - - and to be clear, that is NOT a good thing. NO way the Skins should trade for him even if the asking price is a third and a fifth - - which is less than what the Giants are supposedly offering. HOW-EVAH, based on last year and what we saw on the field of play on Sundays, the Skins might - I said might - have Rod Gardner II on their roster as we speak. Malcom Kelly dropped several balls that hit him on both hands. So, looking forward, how long does Kelly get before having that label hung on him permanently? [I'm not ready to do it just yet, but the drops were there last year on Sunday when it mattered...] Everyone: As I said elsewhere, IF the price for Boldin is a first and a third - - as rumored - - then I would not pay that price. Boldin is a fine WR; he is much better than Edwards. But he is not worth that price at 29 years old with an injury history that has only allowed him to play in 16 games twice in his six year career.

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
I find it interesting that Fitzgerald said he would give up some of his money to help resign Boldin. Maybe having Boldin makes Fitzgerald's job easier? I think that says a ton right there.

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
I am in no way advocating any trades, but I will keep saying I have concerns about Kelly. I think Thomas will be decent. It all depends on how we use him. He has speed and can get seperation, but until he learns the routes and actually performs them JC can't seem to trust him.
Kelly on the other hand has my concern due to his knees. What is degenerative knees? Can he play with that issue? He had one surgery prior to last season keeping him off the field for half the season. He just had another surgery in Jan. They say he's supposed to be ready to perform come training camp but will he be able to? Will his knees constantly be a problem? If so, then we need another WR. Getting a bonified proven WR would eliminate some of the questions and then we can lean toward getting Thomas up to speed and hope Kelly works out for us. So what if we have several good WR's. Moss, ARE, Boldin, Thomas, and Kelly. We could then let Thrash go unless he is a pacifier for some of you. |

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
If we could get Boldin for a 2nd next year and a our 5th this year, I'd do it, but this is very unlikely since Arizona is asking for a 1st and a 3rd, but anything is possible on Draft Day.

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
I am all for dropping back in the draft for more picks. However you have to have a willing participant to do that. My second option is picking at #13. However if it looks like we are going to lose out on a player that would make this team better then trade up.
What would it take to move up? Our 1st and what? Since the Cards are not getting to many takers wanting a 1st and 3rd would they settle for less or would the Skins give up next yrs 1st and this yrs 3rd? I know, I know we would be giving up to much for simply two players. I hope it does not happen. I do have a bad feeling the Skins will try to move up for Sanchez unless they totally have me fooled. But I still have concerns about Kelly and think we need another big possession WR either through draft or FA. I hope I'm totally wrong about Kelly and he comes back with something to prove and healthy, but digenerative knees sounds like something that keeps getting worse not better. Plus it sounds like something that surgery will not totally fix. |

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Question Giantone:
What do you want the Giants to do? Go through the draft for a WR or trade for someone? If you want to go the draft route, who do you like? |

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Personally I want them to draft a youngster and go that rout.I like the kid from NC... Hackeem Nicks I think his name is ,good speed ,good hands and a vertical leap that can rivel LaBron's(joke )..........You are right about our youngsters but remember they didn't get on the field becuase of Plax and Toomer both are gone and two must step up and we also have Tyre...who is more special teams but can also play WR.I also would not be sad if they got the big TE to help Boss ...Petegrew (sp)I think his name is.

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Well the Giants do have some young WR , not to mention David Tyree who did not play all year. Was he just a Super Bowl 1 catch wonder? Well the Giants I dont like any othe NFC East teams but i do respect how they play defense. They served us our lunch twice and the second time they didnt have Plax Burress. That game our defense looked over match just like our offense. I still believe the G-Men and Eagles are the teams to worry about in the NFC East for us. Dallas lost T.Owens and that will hurt their offense this year. G-Men why take B. Edwards when you can get A.Bouldon.

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Why do Redskins fans give a sh*t what the Giants do with their draft picks unless our team is going to benefit. We better worry about what the heck our Front Office Ex. are going to do on Draft day.
