Re: Running Transcript of Doc's Interview with Snyder, Cerrato, and Zorn
Snyder: We're not going to be trading next years 1. We're not comfortable trading 1st round draft picks.

I really, really hope he's not BS-ing on this one. If he's telling the truth, our chances for Sanchez are slim, and that's a positive thing IMO.

If Sanchez falls to 8th, we still have a really good shot of getting him

Re: Running Transcript of Doc's Interview with Snyder, Cerrato, and Zorn
If we draft a T at 13, then I would trade next years 1st round draft pick and go for Mack. OL would be set for years.

To say you have a bromance working with Mack is an understatement. He's going to Pittsburgh at 32. He's the perfect football player for that city and team.

Vinny: Immediate help needed at OL, DL, and LB

Snyder: Always willing to trade up as well as stay put and trade down. First goal is make the playoffs, win the division, make the Super Bowl.

Synder says defense wins defense.

Re: Running Transcript of Doc's Interview with Snyder, Cerrato, and Zorn
Thanks guys for posting this!! I can't hear so I never hear anything on the radio..
Interesting; Vinny said that we have needs at OL, DL, and LB.. And yet we are looking to draft Sanchez? At least good news, Vinny (or Danny?) said that they aren't comfortable with trading next year 1st rd.. But once again, they were willing to give up this year and next year 1st rd for Cutler.. |

Re: Running Transcript of Doc's Interview with Snyder, Cerrato, and Zorn
It sounded to me that Snyder seems fine with the O-line as it is. He subtracted a few years from Randy Thomas's life though. He also said that Rabach was an [ahem] outstanding center.
In response to not following conventional wisdom when it comes to building football teams (i.e. draft vs. aggressive free agency), he said that the criticism is because they're not winning with this strategy. Interesting though, because I didn't get the impression that he was changing anything in that regard. I didn't hear this in the interview, but I'll bet they believe their pass rush has been repaired with the addition of Haynesworth. |

I would be looking to also replace Center. Rabach is small. He got pushed around by Pitt and Balt. Perhaps I'm wrong but put a big nose tackle across from him and he's on his back. Pit seemed to use stunts and he was lost. He didn't know who to block. I truly hope we can pick up some decent players who were not drafted. I still feel we need another WR cause I'm not so confident in Kelly anymore unless someone here can tell me that his digenerative knee disease is no big deal and he'll be 100 % come preseason. No one has mentioned anyone who is a current NFL player who has this problem and does well despite it. Also I have concerns with back up CB. We resigned Byron Westbrook. There have been other players that have come and started the whole while he sat on practice squad for 3 yrs. Is he really that good that we should keep him as a nickle. Heck Tryon made the field. Oh well. |
