Re: Kiper, Mayock, or Mcshay?
Sometimes Kiper gets on my nerves (I think it's the hair), but I don't dislike him. McShay is really solid IMO. I'm not sure if it's their delivery, but I feel like Mike Mayock is the best talent evaluator of the three. I really love his analysis during the scouting combine.
On a side note, the "Mock McShay" bit on Mike & Mike in the Morning was hilarious. "Hey McShay, are you related to Ryan Seacrest or are the hair and height a coincidence?" LOL! Great stuff. Anyone see this article in the NY Times yesterday? Great read about Mel Kiper and his wife Kim. They run their entire business out of their home in Baltimore. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/24/sp...l/24kiper.html

i guess that ESPN likes their NFL gurus to be dicks to each other... and with clayton v salisbury over due to the cryptkeeper comments, they needed new guys to piss each other off... i like them all, i guess... but, no one should put too much stock in their mocks, as i saw that last draft kiper got the most picks right out of the popular gurus, which something like 7 out of 31... my wife could probably get that many right just guessing... |

Re: Kiper, Mayock, or Mcshay?
What's the deal with these two? It's like ESPN is trying to have rivals on their own network and it blew up in their face w/ Sean S. and Clayton. Just silly ass games and stuff. I pretty much stayed on NFLN. I'm so over Chris Berman. And maybe you can explain this.... Trent Dilfer is good and very knowledgable, but he just comes arcoss as overly dramatic when talking about QB's and it's sooooo evident that he has a hard on for Sanchez. Just annoying....

As for Dilfer, I haven't really noticed it. Guess I haven't watched him that much.

I think they all offer something unique. Hard to say who I really prefer

Re: Kiper, Mayock, or Mcshay?
If I had to choose one, I'd say Kiper. That's because of his passion and his style. I love the faces he makes when a team makes a pick that he doesn't like. And he's the original media Draft Guru, as far as I know.
I think Mayock does great write-ups of his evaluations. McShay seems to be on top of all things concerning the NFL Draft. So, I enjoy what each of them has to offer. |

If I had to choose just one, though, it would be Mayock in terms of both knowledge and style.

I like Mayock, Mcshay's a douche and Kiper is very irritating..plus Mayock played the game

Re: Kiper, Mayock, or Mcshay?
I think Mayock does the best work of the three. However, I think the wisdom in draft analysis comes not just in one unique opinion, but in the collective. As long as they develop their own opinions independent of each other, I think that the process is functional.

Re: Kiper, Mayock, or Mcshay?
Haha nice thread topic for a change. I prefer Kiper in both style and knowledge. He tends to relate things in terms of value more which is the a huge factor in the draft.

Re: Kiper, Mayock, or Mcshay?
I don't get this whole McShay is a douche thing. He's really not, not at all. He's actually a pretty good guy. And, like I said, always willing to help with anything.

Re: Kiper, Mayock, or Mcshay?
I don't think he comes across well on tv. There're times where I catch a segment that he's doing and his personality (or at least how it comes across) just rubs me the wrong way. Hard to put a finger on "likability."

Re: Kiper, Mayock, or Mcshay?
Got ya. I guess from my perspective, it's funny how I see people off camera and what we see of them on camera can be so different. There are guys we all probably think must be great to hang out with off-camera and those we can't stand. But sometimes the exact opposite ends up being true.
