for redkin8588, i think the comisssioner would love nothing more then a rookie salary cap. there is one small problem. the N.F.L.P.A. they are very firm in their stance to not cutting rookie salaries. their thinking is if a rookie like Stafford is worth 41 million in guarateed money, whats someone like Matt Cassel worth? the rookie money drives the whole leagues salaries upward

Ok but what makes him worth $41 million? The NFLPA has their heads up their ass. I don't care how good someone is in college, it does not always transfer to the NFL. Look at all of the busts that come out of college. I mean look at the numbers each year at minimum the league drafts 224 players. Go back and look at how many of the 224 players are still in the league. I believe that this is one reason why the owners do not want to see a CBA contract agreed upon. I wouldn't if I was an owner...

Behind the scenes the NFLPA is not united in this stance. There are some vets who get peeved that a rookie who has never played a down makes more than they do.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the upcoming CBA negotiations.
