If Orakpo becomes a perennial pro-bowler, Campbell plays extremely well and resigns with us after the season, and guys like Sanchez (had we traded up and given up our 2010 1st rounder) or the 2nd tier OTs and DEs (whom we could have gotten two of if we had traded down) turn out to be busts, then we obviously made the correct decision.

As much as i am disappointed we didnt use our full 10 minutes on the clock and make a better effort to trade down to fill multiple needs, Orakpo was without question the best player on the board at 13. There is very little chance he will be a bust and given our lack of picks and lack of production from the 2009 draft class, its probably best we went with one sure thing.

We wouldnt be having this discussion if we hadnt traded for Jason Taylor. With our 2nd round pick, we could have landed Clint Sintim, Max Unger, Phil Loadholt or even LeSean McCoy. I hope Snyders learned his lesson about trading high draft picks for aging veterans who dont fit your coaches schemes.

I think I heard somewhere that they tried to trade down with two or three teams. Also, by the time our pick came about, there wasn't much to trade up for (except Orakpo), Sanchez was gone, so was Maclin, Crabtree, and even Hey-Bey. So I doubt any team would have wanted to move up.
