I was going to post this..but figured you'd want the honors

(bonus points to firstdown if he can turn this political thread into a non-political thread)

Some would argue that Specter left the Republican party a long time ago, others that it left him. Alls I know is for moderate republicans like myself, this is another sign that maybe the GOP just don't want us anymore. But can you win in 2012 without us? Because you couldn't in 2008.

I'd argue he isn't even a moderate. he isn't fiscally conservative by any stretch. nor socially. I am nto sure how exactly he still thought he was a republican.

I was going to post an opinion, but then I read the part in bold. 100% agree.

Who voted for McCain but moderates? McCain is the ultimate moderate. I didn't vote for him nor did any of the people I know. A few die hards here and there went out but most of the conservatives stayed home. It's your party not ours. If you want to see how many elections moderate Republicans can win you'll have no better example than this past one.

I think you have it the other way around? You don't actually believe the packaging and fluff that they put out about being conservative? They only put that garbage out during elections for the die hards. You can have the Republican party. It stinks!

Specter is a typical floater. He sticks his finger in the wind and sees which way the wind is blowing, no principle, no honor, just strait up political survival.

How any true conservative can align themselves with the Republican party at this time is completely beyond me. I mean other than the whole thing that we'll be completely communist by tomorrow that is.
