Fair enough. I do realize the odds of Mason usurping Betts or Rock are very long. At the very least I would like for him or any of the other FA RBs pushing these guys for their jobs. I want Betts and Rock to solidly beat them out for their jobs, So in my little corner of Redskins universe I will believe we have the best person available for that position on the team.

In reality though Betts' and Rock's jobs really aren't up for grabs. So while there may be the appearance of a "competition", guys like Mason are brought in to simply carry the load in the preseason to not risk the guys that are locks to make the roster.
