However, Maualuga hasn’t been in trouble in a few years and is considered to be a bigger, more explosive hitter than Laurinaitis. And the Cincinnati Bengals were excited to grab Maualuga in the second round.

The Rams did take Iowa cornerback Bradley Fletcher, who had a DUI arrest in 2007, in the third round. General Manager Billy Devaney said that the Rams evaluate character on a case-by-case basis.
