Not really going to effect anything. Old, senile Arlen voted with the Dems most of the time anyways.

He only changed parties because he knows that he would lose the primary to Pat Toomey this time around. He's hated in his own party and state (other than Philly). This was a last-ditch effort to hang on for a 40th term.

The last straw was his support for the Pork Package. If he stayed in the party, he'd lose.
