Since then I've been reading that you can't just switch the sim cards. The phone will only work with the sim that the phone is activated with and the line that has the data plan for it. So now I can choose to do the $399 early upgrade or just wait until December when I'll be eligible for a discounted upgrade. Guess I'm just going to wait it out. Plus there's supposed to be a new model coming out this summer.

You might be able to use your wife's upgrade for your phone...

A buddy of mine lost his phone while we were snowboarding in the backcountry last year. His wife was eligible for upgrade, and since they're on the same contract, they were able to use that to get him a new phone.
