Well, it’s once again time to re-set the arrest meter to zero.
Per our friends at Pewter Report, Tampa receiver Anthony Mix has been indicted for having sex with a minor.
Mix allegedly had a relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
He is charged only with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which is a misdemeanor. He avoided indictment on felony charges of second-degree rape and sodomy.
Mix faces up to a year in prison and a $500 fine.
“One thing led to another and they decided to meet up,” Lester Banfield of the Bay Minette police told FOX 10 in Mobile/Pensacola. “We believe he was aware of the age of the girl. She snuck out of her house, they met, they had sex in the vehicle while it was parked on the street.”
Mix signed with the Bucs earlier this year, after spending 2008 out of football. He previously played for the Giants and the Redskins.
The Buccaneers had no comment.

I think they are hoping for an uncapped year so they can get rid of the dead weight (Jansen, Smoot, etcl) on the roster and not worry about the cap hits.

That is what alot of these option clauses have accomplished, if next year is uncapped, then money flows, and cuts are made. If a new cap is established, I am sure alot of the option bonuses will be converted into prorated money. There was an interview way back where 3 different GMs said as much (one had to be Vinny!)

He's young, they didn't have to do the whole knee, so hopefully his chances of a full recovery are pretty high. We'll see.

I share your optimism, and I really think that healthy Malcolm Kelly could be a legit #1 for us at some point, but I just can't get past the fact that we ignored his pre-existing knee problems when we drafted him. Annoys the heck out of me.

I don't think they ignored his knee problems necessarily, they were well aware of what they were getting and the risks involved. It's just a case of risk vs. reward and they felt in the long run he will pay off. We'll see.

That said if he has another injury plagued year this year I'll be right there with you.

In college he seemed like your surehanded, all round tough receiver. I was hoping he could be a Redskin because I liked the way he played.

Still wish we could have bit on Holt earlier in the year. Cut Thrash and ARE or see if we could have traded them. I like bringing in younger guys myself, but Holt is still a stud.

Knee injuries tend to be reocurring though a lot of the time even with the surgery. I hope this isn't a Taylor Jacobs type thing. The very fact that you mentioned how we ignored his knee trouble in drafting him also baffles me. Damn Caps are getting blanked at home. What a crappy way to end a fine season.
