Re: Will Jason Campbell return?
physically JC is very talented. but that alone wont do it. There are many guys out there who can throw a mile that are not in the league anymore. This is not an easy offense to learn and i expected some growin pains at the beginning of the season but towards the end of the season you wanted to see some growth in the offense from the QB. So hopefully this is the yr JC comes out and proves me wrong, for the good of the team id like to see it.

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?
man i think ive said this 10 times now but to me theres enough evidence on both sides of this argument (probaly why it wont go away ala suisham a few years ago were some thought we needed to upgrade while others pointed to his top 10 accuracy rating and that we havent had a legit kicker since chip and we should give a young kicker some time to improve himself [which was infalted due to JG not sending him out to kick anything over 45 yds but i digress]).
. . but no matter which side you are on i think most can agree that JC has this year to quiet the doubters and reward his backers. go skins!!!

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?
IMO JC is gone eitherway. You think he wants to play for DS after he tried to trade hm and lied to him? Either he does well and tells DS to stick it or he tanks and he is released. After the Cutler deal fell through DS had him in his office and said youre my QB but what he really was thinking was youre my QB, now can you hurry along? i have a dinner tonight with VC,Coach Zorn and Mark Sanchez.

Interesting. That's the first thing you said that I can actually agree with. Of course, I stated this very thing almost word for word some time ago....and again in this thread, now that I think about it, also some time ago. But I digress. I don't believe Campbell will be here next year either. I am saddened by this because I think this FO screwed the pooch...again. Acting like they were in sudden desperation mode for a QB with Cutler & then with Sanchez... ...it was ridiculous & pathetic. And Jason would be well within his rights to light it up this season & then say goodbye. Not just to the FO, which treated him like crap, but also to the haters in the fanbase which treated him far worse IMO.

Again just because we are mentioned to have interest in Sanchez, it's like every year when the Skins and other teams workout players they know they will likely not get. And also the line was drawn because last i checked we didnt trade up. So right there we have two situations where likely the Skins would have loved to get those players but chose not to give up too much to get them. Orrrrrrr, nobody wanted Campbell. Maybe a little of both. And there's two types of Campbell haters. Those who don't like him and want him to fail, and those who dont like him but as a Skin want him to kick butt and get over the hump. |

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?
I tend to think JC will be more valuable to the Redskins than to any other franchise if he lights it up this season, meaning his best contract offer comes from Snyder. To really stick it to the lil Danny Jason will likely have to take less money...that would be worth the watching.

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?
If JC has a big year, which he probably will, we'll resign him to a big contract just like Zorn will want so he can keep him, and all will be forgotten.

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?
That's the best case scenario man and the thing to hope for. I mean, from Zorn's perspective why start over w/ a brand new guy he has to tear down and rebuild if the current starter gets it done?

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?
This has felt like the longest offseason ever. It's pretty bad but over at ES is so much worse. I'm trying to avoid any MB discussions, especially Campbell related, until training came but I keep getting drawn in. It's like I feel sorry for some of these people and want to help but they are miserable beyond repair.

Yeah, it IS pretty horrible over at ES anymore. Too much negativity & it seems everytime I do something just a hair out of line (like calling Romo a homo), they want to ban me. The last time I got banned for not circumventing their profanity filters in the chat room & the filters didn't work so everything I said came straight out, with no ***. So I got banned from the chat for following the rules. AND I was the ONLY one who got banned even though everyone else was doing it too. Hey, it's whatever. So far, I'm liking it alot over here. A lot less people & a lot less dilution of intelligence & a HELLUVA lot less negativity. It IS the offseason though so we will have to see what happens come the season, but so far, it has been a very pleasant transition. :headbange

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?
Having failed to land Cutler, you guys actually think DS isnt warming up the jet for Rivers after the season?
Either that or he gives a draft for a Bradford,McCoy,Tebow type. IMO if JC does great he will tell DS to kiss his arse so i guess im not wrong to think about the future. |
