Ramsey named 05' Starter

I'm not so sure if starting PR earlier in the year would have made a difference.

He looked totally lost in the preseason and he admitted his confidence hit an all-time low.

I'm thinking Gibbs knew he needed to build Patrick back up a bit before throwing him in to the fire, and he also needed to grasp the offense better.

Putting him out there earlier in the year when he still didn't have a firm grasp of the offense could have buried his confidence even further and done more damage than good.

That's exactly right! Patrick Ramsey admitted that he didn't have a firm grip of the offense earlier in the season, so that could be why we stayed with Brunell for so long. If Patrick had came in in those two games and played outstanding, then possibly he would have started earlier, but since that wasn't the case, Gibbs probably felt Ramsey needed more time on the bench. Anyway, its working out now and I am glad of it! Patrick has the chance now to develop into a great quarterback!

Absolutely Matty. It's quite possible that Ramsey was stinking up the joint in practice the first several weeks, but slowly improved to the point that the staff felt he was ready.
