In the Baltimore area, if you want NFL Network, it is a $5.00 charge over and above your basic service. It's like Showtime, HBO or any other premium channel (though they generally cost ~13/mo). I debated cancelling it, but it's kinda like renting a movie a month and for 60$ a year I can justify it.

Plus, its a relatively safe channel for kids. I have it so if some crap comes on during a commercial (particularly, strangely enough, during football games) that is too violent/scary/sexually charged for a 2 and/or 6 year old, I just flip to NFL Network. Better that than flip to Thomas the Tank Engine and be stuck there (Daaaad, I want choo-choo - waaaaaaaaaaah).

I didn't realize that all you would get would be NFL Network. I figured there must be more channels included, but what do I know.
