Ok, in all seriousness, I never said anything about where it took place. I don't think it really matters to me what state the offense takes place. It could be in a different country for all I care. I think my point is more about the abuse of people vs the abuse of animals & how we seemingly regard a dogs life over a persons. That's all. Virginia never even tip-toed across my mind.

Sorry. lol. I didn't think when using the "Cowboy" term. I totally agree with you. I miss understood you. I guess. I think we are kinda saying the same thing about how some people value animals more then humans. Unfortunatly those people will also say that humans have a choice and can leave on the other hand animals can't.

My issue is the fact that people hold animals in such high regards as if it were their children and due to the fact that some can't have kids they buy animals to fill the gap and there in lies the problem. for some that is.

Everytime I hear someone complain about how much their vet bill was to save said animal I laugh. I guess people think I'm crazy when I say I'd rather pay the $50.00 sleep medicine vs. paying out the butt to save my pets life. I even point out that a hunting accident only costs 25 cents.

That's actually pretty funny.

As I have stated, I have pets. I simply don't put them above MY needs. I feed them & care for them as anyone should for their pets. But I also see them as just that. Pets. Not miniature children or semi-humans. They are animals.

Now, I can understand & do value the fact that they, especially dogs, love unconditionally & a person torturing said animals is betraying that love & trust & it is very sad & disturbing when someone like Vick does what he did. I think what he did was terrible.

But like I said, this country's priorities are backwards when people say, with little conviction, they have no sympathy for a battered wife who's scared to leave her situation & is more likely to jump in front of a bus for a dog. "String him up" for beating a dog, but let a woman say, "He hit me...again" & she gets a "Well, you deserve it. You won't leave." There's something really wrong with that mentality.
