It's a shame. i thought he was doing well, coaching golf and football in Montana or Idaho. he seemed content.

I don't think Danny Boy ever had a realistic chance to consider signing Ryan Leaf so that would not qualify here. The Skins never had a chance to draft Leaf - - and he came into the league before Danny Boy owned the team. He was injured when he went to Tampa and never made out of their exhibition season. When the Cowboys took him in 2001 and the Skins' coach at the time was Marty Schottenheimer who would rather have swallowed a jug of Drano than have a QB like Leaf. After Leaf played a bit for the Cowboys, he was through...
