It's not "health insurance" that is the basic human right, it's the health care. Pay the **** attention and stop distorting the issues. You're so wrapped up in rhetoric that you can't see the forest for the trees. Judging by your previous posts, you feel that spending untold sums haphazardly bombing this country and that is good foreign and fiscal policy. Still worse, you advocate denying citizens of what is supposed to be the preeminent nation in the world basic health care over a worst-case single digit percentage increase in federal taxes. Your logic is flawed at best and can thus be summed up: "Allocating federal funds towards preserving american lives through healthcare is waste. Conversely, spending federal funds on ending the lives of others based purely on philosophical differences is money well spent." That's the kind of logic that I, and most other rational humans, can't seem to understand. Perhaps it requires a form of moral flexibility I don't possess, like the kind necessary to fit my head up my own ass.

He he he. It only took a few sentences to get you all worked up. So you think I'm for bombing everything and everyone huh? How about this? How about you pay for your own health care, insurance, clitorectamy, whatever!

exactly...it's not, it's a privelage, and should be treated as such.

what's the point of working to get ahead in this society, you'll just get taxed so much it's pointless. If you live on welfare you are making more than minimum wage...and that is ridiculous.

Now I don't mind it if people need help and need the hand up, but I just wish the gov't would make them do something. Could you imagine if you had to go scrub toilets to pick up your gov't check, how many people would be looking for employment at the local mcd's?

This kind of stuff isn't new -- it's been happening for a long time. Have you always been opposed to it, or just now that a Democrat is in office?

Please give me a time were a president made a national speach about passing something this big when the opposition was not allowed a rebuttal after the speech or town hall meeting. This is also the president who keeps saying he is so bipartisan in what he does.

No one is stopping Fox News from having a rebuttal special...they should have a special, they are the "voice of opposition" after all. Oh wait, they have a special every night with special hosts and guests. Don't get mad, get glad.

Re: Obama Care

As long as I can keep getting insured by a private HMO then awesome if not then I'm screwed.

Is it just about the speech and/or the issue of health care? Surely you don't need me to find proof of past Presidents and candidates censoring the questions they're asked? Or, is it not the censoring of questions, but the censoring of television ads? Seems like a silly thing to get upset over -- TV broadcasters have always chosen which ads to air, and which not to. This will not change.

Keep in mind, ABC is a private corporation and has no obligation to air any ads whatsoever. Like saden said, Fox has every right to oppose the President whenever they want, for whatever they want. I'm sure you'll hear plenty of opposition from Fox in the days (weeks? months?) following the speech. I'm sure you've already heard much opposition on the matter.

Anyone who wants to seek opposing viewpoints, and/or think critically can do so. The exclusion of opposing ads will not prevent that. Perhaps you just want opposing ads to influence the people who are not critical thinkers, and will not seek opposing viewpoints on their own? Perhaps what you want is "fair and balanced" propaganda?

Well why else would they block another opinion about health care issue and not even allow advertising of a different view?

Because they have policies about airing "controversial" ads. Read the article SS posted.

Either way, it seems your concern is putting your thoughts into the heads of the sheep, when your concern should be the sheep themselves. If everyone thought critically, propaganda would have no use.

I support more critical thinking, and less propaganda. Seems you prefer the opposite.

I'm not one of those who just blindly blames W for everything and takes every opportunity to bash the right (mainly because I lean right), but, in the interest of fairness here....

Re: Obama Care

We pay for snotty ass kids to go to school and a bevy of other things. People should be talking about death taxes, investment taxes, property taxes, etc way before we're talking about preserving good health. We should be discussing gross overspending that does nothing to help the population.

People's angers are misdirected.

The way people feel isn't a talking point. Your grammar conjugation is almost as bad as First Down's spelling.
