Re: Colt Brennan Says He'll "Play A Ton" In The Preseason

The skins defense wasn't that far off from the steelers??? You have to be joking. There was a big difference between the #1 defense compared to our team #4 defense. Don't let the #4 ranking fool you into think the skins defense was on the same level as Pitt. The Steeler were ranked 3rd in sacking the Qb of opposing teams compared to for the skins ranking 28th. The Steelers sacked the QB 51 times. The Steelers had one safety and return two of those fumbles for TDs off those sacks. The skins sack the QB 24 times and return none the fumbles for a TD. The skins also had zero safeties. The Steelers ranked 6th interceptions whereas the skins ranked 17th. The Steelers had 20 int compared to the skins 13. The Steelers returned 2 TDs from those interceptions. How many int did the skins defense return for a TD?? Zero. Big Ben had 17 TDS, 14 int, threw for about 3,300 yds(80.1 rating) whereas JC had 13 TDs, 6 int, and threw for about 3200 yards (qb rating 84.3) There stats are very close. According to you the skins have a better QB and Oline, but still couldn't make the playoffs and your suggesting it is due solely to JC. Flacco threw for less yards, but one more TD than Campbell Collins threw for less yards, but one less TD than Campbell Delhomme threw for about 50 more yards, two more TDs than Campbell. The Panthers, Titans, and even Bmore made the playoffs with subpar QB play, but the skins couldn't?? What these stats show is that other teams can have subpar QB play/ make the playoffs and still win a superbowl. How come the skins can't???? This shows maybe the problem with the skins last year was more than just the QB. |
