Cooley is a better blocker than really everyone gives him credit for. Two years ago, I called him the best TE in the league, based on receiving acumen and clearly improving blocking acumen. He hasn't had a receiving season quite like 2006 though, and frankly, hasn't been as valuable under Campbell as he was under Brunell. Therefore, probably not the best TE in football, and never was, though he certainly seemed like he was going to be for awhile.

Can we ban anyone who uses more than 1 exclamation point? I can see a warning for 2-3, but more than that, automatic ban. ;-)

Cooley doesn't have Manning, Rivers, Schuab, or Romo throwing to him. He does have Randle El though.

Re: Faulk's top 5 TE'S NO COOLEY!!!!!
This is one guys opinion. I don't care what Faulk thinks.
Cooley is a great player. I really like him, but some folks on this sight think Cooley's shit doesn't stink. He is a top 5 or top 7 TE in the NFL. Until the QB inconsistency's with the Redskins gets resolved, it will be hard for him to move up in the Top 5. Last edited by Defensewins; 07-23-2009 at 02:36 PM. |

J/K... I hear you. Some people need to get a hold of themselves with Cooley. If Cooley would get in the endzone more he'd be firmly in the top five. |

Re: Faulk's top 5 TE'S NO COOLEY!!!!!
agreed. but how much of that is his fault? the offensive lines fault? Campbell's fault? the play calling?

It's not his fault he wasn't targeted much in the redzone. That's on Zorn. He's proven in the past he's a solid TD guy. Before last year he never had less than 6 in any single year. |

Sure, offensive scheming is a part of it, but just because he's not in some schmuck's Top Five doesn't mean he isn't a good tight end. To me, he's a good tight end. Not great, not exactly a game changer. But yes, he's good. |
