Re: Faulk's top 5 TE'S NO COOLEY!!!!!
This is one guys opinion. I don't care what Faulk thinks.
Cooley is a great player. I really like him, but some folks on this sight think Cooley's shit doesn't stink. He is a top 5 or top 7 TE in the NFL. Until the QB inconsistency's with the Redskins gets resolved, it will be hard for him to move up in the Top 5. Last edited by Defensewins; 07-23-2009 at 02:36 PM. |

J/K... I hear you. Some people need to get a hold of themselves with Cooley. If Cooley would get in the endzone more he'd be firmly in the top five. |

Re: Faulk's top 5 TE'S NO COOLEY!!!!!
agreed. but how much of that is his fault? the offensive lines fault? Campbell's fault? the play calling?

It's not his fault he wasn't targeted much in the redzone. That's on Zorn. He's proven in the past he's a solid TD guy. Before last year he never had less than 6 in any single year. |

Sure, offensive scheming is a part of it, but just because he's not in some schmuck's Top Five doesn't mean he isn't a good tight end. To me, he's a good tight end. Not great, not exactly a game changer. But yes, he's good. |

Despite the QB play the guy put up career highs in catches and yards last year. |

Depends on who you ask. The TD number has become overly important in peoples minds when they rank offensive skill position players. Just like sacks now dominates as a measure for defensive lineman and linebackers. This reminds of Gerald Riggs in 1991-92 season when he was our short yardage/goal line back. Earnie Byner would bust his ass and absorb all the punishment in getting us to the 1 or 2 yard line. Then in waltzes Riggs, they hand the ball and he would fall over the goal line. Riggs had 11 TD's for the season, but he only rushed 248 yards. Yet Byner had 1048 yards rushing and had only 5 TD's. Stats can't measure toughness, run blocking, route running, shedding blocks or hustle. |
