I think the 4 game suspension is stupid. What metric did Goodell use to determine 4 games was appropriate? Did he look at everything that's happened to Vick since his conviction and say, yeah, that's about right, but I think we should throw on 4 more weeks just because. Obviously, his jail sentence aside, a 4 week suspension is waaay to light for Vick's crimes. But he's been put through the wringer over the past 2 years. Why a 4 game suspension at this point? Makes no sense to me.

I think the 4 game suspension was for public relations only. As you've stated, Vick has already lost a LOT.

I agree. If he is suspended, it will in part be Goodell's way of 1) showing the public & league that he'll hold a higher standard than the courts, and 2) letting the season begin w/out the negative media attention. Would be much better for Goodell if the major story is Farve!
