Short Yardage Back!!!??? ALSTOTT to Skins???

I agree that this is a glaring need, but Alstott isn't the answer. THis is a place where an undrafted rookie/cheap FA ought to be available. ALstott is injury prone and old.

This, to my mind, is the real problem with Gibbs offense (not that the passing game isn't too conservative, but still...). We have not been able to pick up 3rd and shorts all year. It shows that our O-line isn't controlling the line of scrimmage. Everything in Gibbs offense works off of that, including the at-persent nonexistent long passing game. If we can't dominate the line of scrimmage with our O-line, nothing will work.

It's not a conicidence that the games we looked ok in were games that we ran the ball with authority. GIbbs had the most famous O-line ever in the Hogs, and he won 3 superbowls with them. That's what we're missing. Everything depends on it.
