Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Preseason Week 2)
daniel was impressive.....
special teams coverage -- get real. pass coverage -- not as bad as ppl make it seem..... u have to expect the other nfl team to complete a few passes but it definitly can, and will get alot better. d-line -- crazy depth. they look real good. orakpo - seems to be getting better each game marko mitchell -- needs to make this team. portis/betts -- looked good. both. colt brennan -- i dunno. kelly/thomas -- have to keep getting better fred davis -- way to bounce back. J.campbell -- we'll see next game. zorn/blache -- play calling can get better. loved the win. lets keep improving

That's right! You better recognize!
He does need to manage the huddle better though, those time-outs were not a good sign.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Preseason Week 2)
Common sense says to keep Collins as backup QB, but I really like what I saw out of Daniels, Brennan looked good except for the INT. I would love to keep those 2 young QB's just in case Campbell is not resigned and take a chance with the unproven youngsters. I would hate to lose Daniels or Brennan to another team, it would be easier to get rid of the old man.

Just keep Daniels on the practice squad. If JC doesn't make the playoffs this season he is gone(or should be). Collins is gone also either way of retirement or release. Daniels and Brennan show much promise. |

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Preseason Week 2)
He can be claimed by another team like Mason was, that's why I would rather get rid of Collins and take my chances. I know he could be claimed and cut but would really hate to lose him permanently.

Damn, didn't know that. Well I guess we are screwed because even now he is the odd man out and we can't afford to lose a vet backup. |

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Preseason Week 2)
Actually he can't be claimed. It's not a waivers thing at all. He can be signed to a team's roster and then the team that has the player on their practice squad must either promote him to their active roster or he can go to the new team
