My best guess is Belichek has a very strict media policy. In fact, I'm 95% sure he won't even let his assistant coaches talk tot he media. That's a team thing. I guess it's hard to stay gracious when you have people trying to talk to you every minute of every day. I don't see anything about post-game locker room interviews with players.

Same here, in fact the speech sounded like a way to justify limiting access to players, by stressing all the time they do make them available.

Even the phrase "make them available" has a certain implication that at other times, they are NOT available.
