How 'bout Reed Doughty bringing it tonight. He was flying around the edge. I'd love to see him whack Eli a few times.

Reed played his ass off tonight! It was good to see.

Very impressed w/ Doughty. I've also heard that the coaches say that he seems to have an instinct as to where the ball is going to be.

We're in good shape with him backing up Horton.

Reed, Wilson and Jarmon were the highlights of tonight. Glad to see Marko come back after a rough start. JC is throwing w/ authority and looks like he has commnad of the offense. If any of our starting O-linemen get hurt we're in serious trouble.

Agreed. Campbell on the first play, firing a bullet to Kelly on the sidelines was awesome. I feel much better about Thomas and Kelly.

Robert Henson was blowing things up tonight too.

I'm still at a loss about who the LBs are going to be though.

I think I've been most impressed with Marko and Kelly this pre-season. At the start of camp if I had to put money on who would be starting between Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly, I would have bet Devin Thomas 9 out of 10 times. But I think Kelly has the nod going into game 1.

Re: Redskins vs. Jags Gameday thread

I am worried about special teams coverage and blocking teams.
I am worried about O line depth
I am worried about #3 LB and beyond...unless it is Blades.
I would attack orapko as a LB intensely with the passing game.

Great improvements with WR, even to #5...punter..I am comfortable with Swishy at K.
QB is adequate...Portis is great...we all know that...depth is ok.
Why weren't our #1-2 TE's in the game?

I was a bit disappointed in the battle for #4 RB...not much fantastic...but ok

I am uninspired by defense... a ton of offseason hype again...but nothing amazing, thats for sure...we shall see when the season starts...don't drink the kool aid until you see if it kills you first.

You must be a depressing drunk. LOL.

I on the other hand see a pretty dominant defense. Our line has been held all season long by the opposition's o-line. Our backups did a decent job against Jax's first team offense. And Haynesworth does make a difference in that line. It is to early to say for a fact that they are going to be elite...but on the same token it is too early to say they are going to dissappoint.

Agreed. Too early to really tell anything. But I don't like the fact that he was loafing last week and looked out of shape. We'll see next week. I think Smoot and Orakpo have had real nice pre seasons. I think Wilson has earned playing time w/ the starters too.

I've been hearing him being out of shape, don't know what to make of it. In regards to last week, this was the freaking Pats we were playing against...and even against them we manage to put a little pressure and punch Brady in the mouth. Honestly, last year's team would have gotten no pressure on the Pats, and the little pressure we got on them I thought was an improvement. I think if anyone expected 10 sacks of Brady or having him running for his life, is delusional. It wil be nice yes, but you have to be realistic.

I expect this defense, and especially the d-line, to put a lot of pressure and create turnover against average and below average teams, and put up good fights against elite teams (i.e. the Pats).

Re: Redskins vs. Jags Gameday thread

I think that we're on our way to becoming a good team, a playoff team. We're not there yet.
There are only a few concerns in my book and that's O-line depth and consistency. Can anyone tell my why Blache plays the CBs so far off the effing WRs?

W/out question they've been a little sloppy.
