Re: Redskins final cutdown thread

does anyone have any valid reasoning as to why betts and rock are still on the team. yeah betts had a good 6 games a few years ago and rock can return kicks to the 25, but what will they bring to the table THIS YEAR?

Rock returns kicks to the 30+ and he tackles very well on punt/ kick coverage. My guess is he will do all that again this year. Betts is a good back up to Portis. My guess is he will continue to do that this year too. Ohh and Betts should be getting more carries this year as our 3rd down back.

Marcus Mason runs like he knows the playbook very well. He should, since he's been on the PS. I am really happy for him.

Is that somthing you look forward to? when weast the last time rock crossed the 50, i'm not saying he isen't a decent returner but to keep five back just to have him a special teams is a strech. and as far as betts on third down, thats the last thing i wanna see, remeber betts not being sable to get in in the endzone from the 1 last year and getting stuffed from the two in preseason this year. oh and have you ever seen him pass block?

We should have portis followed by mason/aldrige and have doersey on special teams. All we have is the same mediocre o from last year. hopefully kelly and mitchell will step up

I know Rock had a couple long (past the 50 but not TD) runs last year that sparked short field scoring drives in a couple games last year. But yes getting past the 20 on nearly every kickoff is a good thing.
